STS 2021 Online: Ethics Debate: Lung Cancer Screening Should be Suspended During a Pandemic

Low-dose computed tomographic screening provides significantly improved survival of lung cancer patients. During a pandemic, lung screening could be suspended along with other elective procedures, since a few months delay in diagnosis might be better than subjecting patients to screening and a possible operation under dangerous circumstances. Should screening be suspended during a pandemic?
