2024 STS Mastering Valve Surgery Workshop Online
Activity Description
This unique course guides cardiac surgeons in mastering modern-day valve surgery, including all aspects of open and transcatheter valve surgery, including aortic, mitral, and tricuspid valves. Additionally, there is a session dedicated to atrial fibrillation. The workshop covers advanced valve techniques such as aortic root enlargement, Ross, and minimally invasive valve surgery, and features the transcatheter therapies that the surgeons must know.

Target Audience
Cardiothoracic surgeons, trainees in fellowship, residents, including those in an integrated I-6 program. Advanced practice providers and valve coordinators are invited to enhance the heart team concept.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this activity, participants should be able to:
- Review advanced, open valve surgical techniques including complex aortic valve repair/replacement, Ross procedure, complex mitral/tricuspid repair.
- Differentiate transcatheter valve techniques including TAVR, M-TEER and other advanced therapies.
- Summarize the current updates on surgical arrhythmia therapy during valve surgery.
- Apply the knowledge and skills to your clinical practice.
