2023 STS Workshop on Robotic Thoracic Surgery

Featuring didactic lectures, case demonstrations, and hands-on sessions at a state-of-the-art training facility, this interactive course will help provide the knowledge and expertise needed to perform bronchoscopy and lung segmentectomy with the aid of a robot. Educational sessions will take place at both the Hilton Atlanta Northeast and at Intuitive Surgical Inc. in Norcross, GA.

This activity contains the Overall Evaluation required to claim credit for attending the STS Workshop on Robotic Thoracic Surgery.

Target Audience

This course is designed for cardiothoracic surgeons or trainees.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Outline current indications for performing sublobar resections. 
  2. Demonstrate proficiency in performing both simple and complex segmentectomies.
  3. Identify currently available localization techniques.
  4. Demonstrate robotic bronchoscopy techniques.
  5. Recognize future developments in the field of thoracic robotic surgery.
