This activity contains the evaluation required to claim credit for participating in the 2025-2026 Test Item Writing process for Thoracic Surgery In-Training Exam (TSITE).

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Prioritize learning topics that align with the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, STS Learning Program and their own clinical practice.
  • Define guidelines and current landmark evidence that relates to the priority topics related to their clinical practice.
  • Create a clinically relevant scenario and questions that assess knowledge and judgment.
  • Critically review and discuss assessment questions regarding clinically relevant content, clarity and brevity, freedom from bias and stigmatizing language, and fairness.
  • Reflect on ability to define assessment construct, develop a question using feedback from colleagues and examinees.
