Course Description

The Advances in Quality & Outcomes: A Data Managers Meeting (AQO) examines how to improve data collection and advancing participants’ database coding skills in the Adult Cardiac Surgery Database (ACSD), General Thoracic Surgery Database (GTSD) and the Congenital Heart Surgery Database (CHSD). The sessions will use a case-based learning format.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of the CHSD session, participants will be able to:

  • Summarize the anesthesia section of the CHSD
  • Discuss and code double outlet right ventricle (DORV) procedures
  • Discuss and code double outlet right ventricle (DORV) procedures
  • Define the anatomy and physiology in DORV
  • Discuss and code combined aortic arch anomalies
  • Explain the use of the Data Quality Report (DQR)

Intended Audience

The intended audience consists of data managers, cardiothoracic surgeons, general surgeons, anesthesiologists, oncologists, cardiologists, pulmonologists, radiologists, perfusionists, and allied health care providers working with cardiothoracic surgeons. All participants may receive a certificate of participation.
